We are active for posting clips of the Kungchido’s on line classes , activities in social medial including LinkedIn. We got lot attention from professionals LinkedIn group internationally than other social medias such as Facebook, Instagram however our number one followers are in online news Osnepal. Lately any of kungchido related articles will be shared nearly 20K plus in Osnepal.

How this movie decided to create ?

As our former director Daquan moved out of San Diego, California we are not doing any short movies & stalled. In LinkedIn I become friend with A. Elian Script writer, who inspired me to do this short movie writing scripts voluntarily. After communication with her I come up with multiple options for low budget short movie and finally come up with my past story of training in multiple countries Etc.

Now challenge is how to do such in short movie? Most critical is budget. Technically i have no budget for movies. Kungchido is non profit teaching, promotions all doing for free. All amateurs action artists are own students. However, I come to the point and decided to do this one best way we could .

Coordinations & finding videographers/Editor:

I did try to find our talented director, videographer, editor Daquan to fly back to San Diego but no luck. So started thinking about another director from Nepal Ashutosh Shrestha it’s not easy one. First of all Covid secondly too far he is in Nepal. I did write to him and he did response right away.

I started searching using Google for affordable videographer, editor but not easy to find affordable within our budget. So I decided to call my old student, who introduced me with Daquan. Stones did try to find one too. I start calling few others that include world class martial artists Chucky Currie, who did act in one of kungchido short movie. He suggested me to search in Craigslist. That really helped me, where I found amazing two videographers Paul Kottis & Davis Lisenbee. That made possible and dream came true.

I just want to let everyone know lead videographer, Assistant Director Paul Kottis & Myron Cumigad are great people to work as Team. Their hard wok, great manners, punctuality and outstanding willingness to make things happenings are great plus. Technically I am impressed with them.

Another challenge is now find the easy fit story then action artists and site locations. Believe or not this time amazing coincidence took place. My daughter Nakita is well trained since 7 yrs old and one of the very first junior Black Belt of kungchido at the age of 11 yrs agreed to do one scene for this short movie. I always wish her to be part of short movie since, I started doing short movies but she is not interested in past. Recently Pratima showed up fan of kungchido and encouraged her and finally, she agreed to be part of it. I created her role as Lilian. Then luckily we got role of Grandmaster Mihail Pazuk for Dr Matt & Role of Saroj for Sarokar Shrestha perfect fit. We also got role of childhood of mine for Suvan Shrestha & role of Sifu Ramesh Chipalu for Dr Roshan Shrrstha. Definitely Rashmi Shrestha mom of Suvan helped us bringing Suvan early in the morning for movie shot. As it is too early and our videographers are not there and they have to leave earlier, we have decided to do very first shot by ourselves. Stones Koth brought all the gears that include boxing gloves and he instantly trained Dr Roshan & Suvan quickly for boxing scene then I did movie shots.

So far all went great and Nakita got role of Lilian as student of mine with Stones Koth. Another challenge is we want to show something new and practical one that can be implemented. Original thought was she shall be in Lehenga classical dress but eventually she changed her mind after talking to her mom so , I had to quickly change the script partially come with a little different story but got splendid idea about the scarf and that worked perfectly.

So far all went great and interview of Sifu Saroj with A. Elain Carlisle was set at Japanese Restsurant Wonderful Sushi of San Diego own by John Lee a great fan of kungchido. In last minute as Elain got some personal family issue she could not make it so partially, i had change the story however script location remains the same .

Luckily I saw that day Nakita Joshi & Kaylen (KK ) at my place and I just offer role of Elain to KK just joking. I still could not believe KK accepted immediately and that really helped me to complete the movie.

One last thing we want to show Dr Matt and Sarokar as Grandmaster Mihail Pazuk and Saroj Joshi as Sifu and student in Ukraine. So initially our thought is create scene of Black Sea of Ukraine. I thought Tory pine nearest beach from our residence will be perfect place but little diverted Delmar as we got better quiet place for the movie shot. Delmar with railroad track and background of Pacific Ocean is a perfect scene. I am thankful to one of my old student & friend who, showed me this place.

Finally final coordinations are made We had great support from everyone including Dr Kamala Vaidya Joshi, who bought new outfit for me long blue kungfu outfit, which I always thought to have one. Sarokar mom Dr Kalpana Manandhar shrestha is also doing great job supporting Sarokar. Sarokar bought kungfu outfit particularly for this shot. Paul is so great in coordinations working with me in the whole process and finally we did sign contract. On the other hand Davis Lisenbee volunteer and drove all the way from north for one shot of one scene . Finally we did it with whole day shooting approximately total of 9 hours. We met Myron Cumigad with lead videographer Paul Kottis as his crew member all went great ! It was excellent team work and nice team ! Without such support from everyone won’t be able to do such movie in such a low budget! Thanks trusting on me , us believing in kungchido teaching, philosophy impossible made possible .

At this point , only I can tell one thing there are lot great people out there you have to let them know about you your philosophy and intent of that contribute to world. We can assure you that lot support you will get as we did and you will succeed. Please see this trailer and enjoy.
