काठमाडौँ । जनता समाजवादी पार्टी (जसपा) नेपालले पहिचानको आन्दोलनमा नेतृत्वदायी भूमिका खेल्ने घोषणा गरेको छ। पार्टीका प्रचार प्रसार तथा प्रकाशन विभाग प्रमुख पूर्ण बस्नेतले जसपा नेपाल पहिचानको आन्दोलनको प्रतिनिधित्व गर्ने राष्ट्रिय राजनीतिक दल भएको दाबी गर्दै अबको आन्दोलनमा नेतृत्वदायी र सक्रिय भूमिका निर्वाह गर्ने बताएका छन्।
उनले नेपाली कांग्रेस, नेकपा एमाले र नेकपा (माओवादी केन्द्र)को सहमतिमा प्रदेश नं १ लाई कोशी प्रदेश नामकरण गरिएको निर्णयको जसपा नेपाल सुरुदेखि नै विपक्षमा रहेको र त्यसको विरुद्ध जारी आन्दोलनमा पार्टीले नेतृत्वदायी र सक्रिय सहभागिता जनाएको स्पष्ट पारे।
बस्नेतका अनुसार जसपा नेपाल सुरुदेखि नै पहिचानमा आधारित ‘१०+१’ राज्य पुनर्संरचनाको प्रस्तावको पक्षमा उभिएको दल हो। अहिले कोशी प्रदेशमा भइरहेको आन्दोलनलाई निष्कर्षमा पुर्याउन पार्टीले मात्र ऐक्यबद्धता र समर्थन नगरीकन नेतृत्व गर्दै अघि बढ्ने उनले बताए।
यसै सन्दर्भमा, जसपा नेपालले पार्टीका सह–अध्यक्ष रकम चेम्जोङको संयोजकत्वमा आन्दोलन परिचालन तथा समन्वय समिति गठन गरेको छ। समितिको आयोजनामा आगामी वैशाख २० गते सुनसरीको धरानमा ‘कोशी नाम र केबलबार खारेजी तथा पहिचानको आन्दोलनको कार्यदिशा’ विषयक गोष्ठी आयोजना गरिनेछ।

JSP Nepal to Take a Leading Role in Identity Movement
Kathmandu – The Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal has announced that it will take a leading role in the ongoing identity movement. Party’s head of publicity and publication department, Purna Basnet, stated that JSP Nepal is the only national political party representing the identity movement and will henceforth play a leadership role in it.
Basnet clarified that JSP Nepal has opposed from the beginning the decision made with the consensus of Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, and CPN (Maoist Centre) to name Province No. 1 as Koshi Province, and that the party has been actively participating in the protests against it.
According to Basnet, JSP Nepal has consistently supported the “10+1” federal restructuring model based on identity. To conclude the ongoing movement in Koshi Province effectively, he emphasized that JSP Nepal will not just express solidarity and support but will lead the movement.
In this context, the party has formed a Movement Mobilization and Coordination Committee under the coordination of party Co-Chairperson Rakam Chemjong. The committee is set to organize a seminar on “Abolition of the Name Koshi and Cablebar, and the Way Forward for the Identity Movement” on Baisakh 20 in Dharan, Sunsari.
