Kathmandu, July 22 – CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that the party won’t take any action against the leaders from the dissenting faction. He, however, termed the dissent leaders as ‘those missing their track’. At a programme organised to mark the 43rd memorial day of Nepal Communist Party’s founding general secretary Pushpalal Shrestha on Thursday, Oli argued that such step was imperative to maintain unity in the party.
Oli called for unity in the party to implement the great thoughts while asking the party leaders to get inspired from Pushpalal and quit the petty interests for post and positions. Stating that party rules and regulations were violated in different phases, Oli announced to give amnesty to all who had faced penalty in the past. “I am the chief of the party organisation. But, comrades have conspired a coup against me to oust me from party chief and even from the general membership,” Oli added while urging to stop the path to split and ruin the party.
Stating that the UML was the largest party in the House of Representatives, National Assembly, province government and local government too, Oli claimed that the incumbent government was formed from the Supreme Court’s mandamus order.
Also speaking at the programme, party’s standing committee member Ram Bahadur Thapa stressed the need for party unity and strengthening campaign. (RSS)
