Gandaki, July 21- Gandaki Province Chief Minister Krishna Chandra Nepali has said it is the responsibility of all to protect and promote the ideology and principles of BP Koirala. In his tributary message on the occasion of the 39th death anniversary of BP Koirala, he said progressive, dynamic and long lasting thoughts helped the Nepali Congress establish as the party synonym to the democratic movement, nationality, development and the stability.

Remembering the late Koirala, the first people’s elected Prime Minister of Nepal, as a personality with multi talents, the focal point of the Nepali politics and the icon of democratic thoughts and movement, he extended tribute to the late leader. Koirala who had a rigorous struggle for the establishment of democracy in the country was equally a successful literary figure, the Chief Minister said, adding that his contribution to the liberation of Nepal and Nepalis from the tyrannical Rana regime, to the development and promotion of democratic ideology, establishment of parliamentary democracy and to taking Nepal’s image and identity to a new height internationally was highly commendable, he added.

The press statement reads, “The relevance of BP Koirala’s National Reconciliation Policy is growing in the country on the issue nationality. BP’s ideologies and principles have always been established as main guiding principles for the political parties believing in democracy and parliament practice. BP Koirala’s contribution to the global movement for democratic socialism is significant itself.”

Saying the country has been moving ahead with BP’s long-term thinking for the welfare of the country and citizens, he shared BP Koirala had kept the nation always at the centre while in power or not. Chief Minister Pokharel urged all the citizens believing in democracy to involve in a campaign of building a prosperous nation by following the path of democratic socialism shown by BP Koirala. (RSS)
