Kathmandu, July 18 – Main opposition party CPN (UML)’s leader Pradeep Kumar Gyawali has asserted that anomaly prevailed in the parliamentary politics in the country with the latest political development. Gyawali said so while putting forth his views on behalf of his party regarding the proposal tabled by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba for the vote of confidence in the second meeting of today’s meeting of the House of Representatives.

Recalling the past incidents, he reminded that parliamentarians from Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) had not cast vote to their own parties which had led fall of governments leading by the both parties which, Gyawali argued, had invited political anomaly.Gyawali said, “It is not about who is in the leadership. The question lies on whether the parliamentary system was strengthened or not. Whether there was a fair play or not.”

He also reminisced the incident of 2052 BS when erstwhile Prime Minister Manmohan Adhikari’s government was toppled no sooner he had come to the parliament to respond to the vote of no-confidence. The former minister asserted that although the latest political development had displeased his party, they will obey the verdict of the highest court in the country. “The latest verdict of Supreme Court has breached the imagination of State with separation of power.”
Furthermore, he expressed his confidence that the public will always remember the initiatives and undertaking of the CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli-led government.

He also clarified that his party will not give vote of confidence to PM Deuba, arguing that the decision of the Supreme Court on July 12 would leave a far-reaching effects on the parliamentary politics in the country.(RSS)
