Kathmandu, July 12-Since the beginning of the monsoon this year, 59 people have died in floods, landslides and inundation in various parts of the country. The deceased include 31 male, 17 female and 11 children, according to the Nepal Police headquarters.Two people died in the past 24 hours, including one each in Khotang and Sindhuli. Likewise, during the monsoon so far, 73 have been injured while 27 are still missing.
A total of 1,268 people have been rescued while 583 houses, 107 cowshed, three schools and 13 government offices have been damaged in the rain-induced disaster. Likewise, in the 600 incidents of disaster during the period, 5,495 members of 1,176 households have been displaced, said Nepal Police spokesperson SSP Basant Bahadur Kunwar. (RSS)
