The rural electrification campaign is taking place in different areas of Tanahun district where the substations for power supply are being constructed. The substations are being built with support from the Tanahun hydropower project for the electrification drive.

Managing Director of Tanahun hydropower project Kiran Kumar Shrestha said that the substations are completed in Ghiring Rural Municipality-4 and Bandipur Rural Municipality-6. After the construction of the substations, power supply is ensured in Bhimad Municipality, Ghiring Rural Municipality and Rising Rural Municipality in Tanahun, and some parts of Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta Purba).

The officials have claimed that reliable and quality power supply is guaranteed to the consumers. Managing Director Shrestha shared that entire jobs of the rural electrification would be completed in the upcoming fiscal year.
The project is being implemented from Nepal Electricity Authority and the loan assistance of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The Tanahun rural electrification and distribution system strengthening project had signed a contract deal with the East India Industry and Waiba Infratech JV for the rural electrification purpose.
