The Chitwan Medical College Cancer Institute in Chitwan has signed an agreement on skills, research and technology exchange with Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Center based in New Delhi of India.
The agreement was signed on Friday by Prof Dr Harishchandra Neupane, President and Managing Director of Chitwan Medical College and Prof Dr Sudhir Kumar Rawal, Director of Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Center.
According to the agreement, Rajiv Gandhi hospital’s specialist doctors will train the doctors of CMC while a cancer screening and treatment camp will also be conducted at CMC with the involvement of doctors from the Delhi-based hospital, according to Director of the academic department of CMC, Dr Gopendra Prasad Dev. Cooperation will also exchanged shared in the field of cancer research.
Doctors from Rajiv Gandhi hospital will join discussions online to be held in relation to various issues including the procedure to be adopted for the treatment of a patient received by CMC. It may be noted that Chitwan Medical College has established a 100-bed ‘CMC Cancer Institute’. The institute was inaugurated on Thursday.
