Nepali Congress’ Shankar Bhandari won the House of Representatives (HoR) election from Tanahun constituency no. 2 by getting 30,604 votes, according to Returning Officer Govinda Upadhyay.Bhandari’s nearest rival Kiran Gurung of CPN (UML) obtained 25,130 votes.
Likewise, Rastriya Swatantra Party’s Bijay Joshi managed 5,373 votes and Rastriya Prajatantra party’s Narendra Pratap Mahat got 1,421 votes in the final vote count.
Of the total 68,817 votes cast, 3,581 votes have been found invalid among the ballots counted.
In the last HoR election, Bhandari had lost to UML’s candidate from the same constituency.
