Government acknowledges youth talents: Minister Khand

Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has said the government always acknowledges the people’s quality and competency.At a programme organised by the Rupandehi-based Rotary and Rotaract Club here today, he said Rupandehi has many youth talents and they are yet to be recognized by the State.

Refusing allegations from a certain section of people that the government recent awards were for influencing voters in the district, he said such talents would be included in the honor list in the future. The Minister, who is the Nepali Congress candidate from the Rupandehi-3 constituency for the election to the House of Representatives (HoR) on behalf of the five-party alliance, said the government’s sole efforts were not enough to prevent youths from addition and youths should too collaborate with the government for a better position of youths.

He went on to say that the construction and operation of the Gautam Buddha International Airport in Ruapandehi had contributed to job creations for youths within the country. Also speaking on the occasion, PA candidate ( Democratic Socialist Party) on behalf of the alliance, Santosh Pandey, urged the Rotary and Rotaract clubs to further engage in social affairs and prevent youths from facing the risk of drug abuse and so on.

Prior to this, the Club organised a polio peace rally at Bhairahawa on the occasion of the World Polio Day today. The Day is observed globally on October 24 each year. At present, only three countries: Pakistan, Afghanistan and Nigeria in the world report the polio cases. In Nepal no polio cases are found since 2010.
