Coronavirus infection has been confirmed in 895 more people in the last 24 hours across the country. This was revealed in 5,909 samples tested in various laboratories across the country during the same period, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. The total number of infected has reached 987,228 till date. Similarly, during the period, 264 have recovered from the flu-like infection. This takes the recovery caseload to 970,326 as of now. The recovery rate is 98.3 per cent at present, the Ministry said.
Currently, the active cases of COVID-19 is 4,934 with 4,792 being treated in home-isolation, 142 in institutional isolation, 36 in ICU and five in ventilator support. Likewise, a person succumbed to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, with the fatality climbing to 11,968 to date.
Kathmandu and Lalitpur districts have over 500 active cases of COVID-19 while Kaski has over 200 cases. Manang, Kalikot, Mugu, Humla, Bajura, Darchula and Bajhang districts have no active case of COVID-19 at the moment.
Meanwhile, 33,176 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 today alone, said the ministry in its routine update.
