Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has issued a ruling to the government for informing the parliament the reasons behind the fuel price hike.
The Speaker made the ruling in the name of the government after the lawmakers speaking in the meeting of the House of Representatives today drew his attention over the frequent hike in the fuel price.
He said that his attention has been drawn on the issue of increase in the price of petroleum products. “I also want to draw the government’s attention to the issue raised by the MPs; I order the government to present before the House the facts and truth on this matter,” he ruled.
Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), the state-owned petroleum supplier, increased the price of petroleum products to be effective from today. The hike in the petroleum products is being vehemently protested in the parliament as well as in the streets.
