Kathmandu, June 2- total of 7,219 more people have recovered from COVID-19 in last 24 hours. With this, the total number of people who have recovered from COVID-19 has reached 461,563 in the country. The recovery rate has now climbed to 80.8 per cent.According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 5,316 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the nation during the same period. With this, the number of the COVID-19 infected people has reached 571,111.
Meanwhile, 101 people died of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 7,555. The latest COVID-19 cases were detected in 16,878 tests including 13,805 RT-PCR and 3,073 antigen test held in various laboratories in the country in the past 24 hours. According to the Ministry, 3,088,376 RT-PCR tests have been done so far in the country.
Meanwhile, the total number of active cases stands at 1017,993 with 95,131 in home based isolation, 6,826 in institutional isolation and 1,446 in ICU while 385 are with ventilator support. Another, 837 are in quarantine.In Kathmandu valley, the number of active cases stands at 14,087, 6,235 and 4,324 in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts respectively. (RSS)
