Kathmandu, June 1 – Minister for Forest and Environment Prem Bahadur Ale said Nepal has been able to keep big landmass of forest due to its conservation efforts through community forestry. At a virtual programme organized today by the Federation of Community Forestry Users Nepal (FECOFUN), Minster Ale lauded the Federation for its substantial role in the conservation and management of forestry in Nepal.
“Nepal’s forestry has largely been conserved due to the role of FECOFUN”, he further said. He spoke of the need of forest conservation and greenery promotion to materialize the slogan ‘Green Forest, Nepal’s Wealth’. Nepal’s approach and practice of community forest conservation of late has been globally recognized, he said, adding that it was a matter of pride for all of us.(RSS)
