Nepali Congress leader Dr Shekhar Koirala has said that the party should go to the people in the upcoming election with the message of unity and transformation. In a meeting with leaders close to him today, Dr Koirala said that the people should go among the people to make the Congress the number one party in the upcoming election. He expressed his commitment not to let the party down.
It is only the Congress that can change the face of the country by bringing results in its favour in the upcoming elections at all three levels, he said.

Leader Dr Koirala, who lost in the election for NC chairmanship, also urged the leadership to function in a just, lawful, rational and practical manner. He said that priority should be given to qualified and capable people while nominating to various positions within the party.
