The Kathekhola rural municipality in Baglung has turned to a paperless local government, becoming the first ‘digitalised village’ in the district. The rural municipality claims to be the first local government in the district to implement online system in its all services.
According to ward chair Amar Bahadur Thapa, online system has been implemented in the executions of official works including registration of personal events to revenue collection. Earlier, the rural municipality was declared first among ten local levels in the district in terms of the use of digital technology in the assessment carried by the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Administration.
“We have prepared a digitalised profile about the village. We are soon planning to launch an agro App for the marketization of local agricultural products,” he said. Besides, the local government is planning to implement the IT-assisted service delivery system in schools, health institutions and other offices as well, it is said.
