The Ministry of Health and Population has recorded 216 new cases of COVID-19 in the latest update. A total of 7,631 samples were tested during the same period. Similarly, 209 recovered from the flu-like infection in the past 24 hours. With this, the number of people recovering from COVID-19 reached 812,419 till date. The recovery rate is 98 per cent, the Ministry said.
Likewise, there are currently 4,971 active cases of COVID-19 while the fatality rate stands at 17 per cent. Two persons succumbed to the deadly infection in the past 24 hours, taking the COVID-19 fatality caseload to 11,596 as of now. The fatality rate is 1.4 per cent.
Meanwhile, 133,812 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. There are more than 500 COVID-19 cases in Kathmandu and Lalitpur districts while Sunsari, Bhaktapur, Kaski, Banke and Kailali districts have over 200 active cases.
The districts having no COVID-19 cases are Solukhumbu, Rasuwa, Manang, Mustang, Humla, Mugu and Bajura districts, shared the Ministry in its routine update. There are 1,004 active cases in Kathmandu, 589 in Lalitpur and 496 in Bhaktapur district.
