Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Prem Bahadur Ale has pledged to fully implement every decision of the parliamentary committees. At today’s meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR)’s International Relations Committee, Minister Ale expressed commitment to fully implement the committee’s directive regarding the land in the name of Taragaon development committee, Pokhara airport and Bhairahawa-based Gautam Buddha international Airport.

“Discussions are underway on the modality of the construction of Nijgadh International Airport. We would hold discussion and consultation with the companies showing interest for the construction”, he added. Earlier, committee chair Pabitra Kharel had sought explanation from Minister Ale why the decisions and directives of the parliamentary committee are not being put into action.

On the occasion, committee member and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal directed the ministry to initiate works only after determining location for the construction of airport prior to the investment of Nepal government and end the tendency of dillydally, ignorance, substandard quality and competition of raising commission. “Terminal of Bhairahawa Airport is not satisfactory. Ignorance is pervading there. There needs attention on far-reaching impacts while development infrastructure”, he noted.
