Kathmandu, May 30 – Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has said that it was not necessary to cast any doubt over the implementation of budget brought for the coming fiscal year 2021/22.At a news conference organized at the Finance Ministry on Sunday, Finance Minister Poudel shared, “The budget has been brought for implementation. We are accountable towards the budget.”Saying that the budget was presented as per the constitutional provision at a time when there is no parliament, he urged not to cast any doubt on it.The Finance Minister made it clear that the budget was not brought to impress the voters, adding that the budget should be released on Jestha 15 as per the constitutional provision.

He shared that the government would move ahead making systematic plans for the implementation of the budget and added that it was centered to face the challenges created by COVID-19.Similarly, Finance Secretary Shishir Kumar Dhungana said the budget has been brought with a belief that country’s economy would be revived after the prevention, control, treatment of COVID-19 as well as arrangement of vaccine against it while Revenue Secretary Ram Sharan Pudasaini shared that no new tax has been imposed but minor adjustment was made as per the law.

Likewise, Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Maha Prasad Adhikari expressed the belief that though problems have surfaced in economic growth due to coronavirus, it would be improved gradually.He added that the 6.5 per cent of growth rate set by the government for the coming fiscal year was not ambitious.(RSS)
