Pandemic Panicking & Anarchy dragging not only collapsing entire infrastructure but bringing chaos in social structure. it’s threatening health care workers including doctors, nurses.
Who is responsible for this chaos?
There are about 125 hospitals and total of about 4,863 health care facilities including hospitals. About 6,934 health care facilities including non public health care facilities.
People are panic and most of them are already distress and on the top financially broke. And they are panicking too with fear of loosing their love ones as well as themselves. It’s unfortunate and creating dreadful situations.
On the other hand health workers front liners Nurses, Doctors and others are frustrated as there are lack of PPPE, manpower, equipment, ICU beds, normal beds, oxygens, Ventilators.
Although they want they could not save all lives. It’s also extremely sad and unfortunate!
Gap between above two causes now created fear of collapsing social structure. Recently family of deceased covid patients went after Doctors & Nurses of Bheri hospital. They luckily got away from the attacks and saved their lives . We have few cases in past but recently frequency is getting higher will be more in future.
It’s simply unacceptable and must provide securities to all health care workers immediately.
One big thing is missing in our healthcare infrastructure that put system in chaos.
Health care system must have Emergency Patient counseling system, letting know the situations of the patients to the concern immediate families, how critical it is? What one shall expect as outcome of acute cases? And hospice counseling system for long term critical care must be mandatory. That way patients family already prepared and they know what to expect?
Such system will eliminated doubts between front-liners and patients family. It will also stop the primitive way to hunt doctors, nurses and health care front liners by family of deceased patients. On the other hand all hospitals must have their own security personal to protect health care workers till law enforcement personal will arrive.
These practices are well implemented in many other countries particularly in developed countries . We must immediately adopt such and worth it. It’s little cost but it’s affordable and no high cost & tech technologies involved.
Stop beating Doctors, Nurses. On the other hand educate and immediately provide intervention as stated above. It will be the best preventive for such anarchy.
Heath Ministry and Government of Nepal must act jointly to help them before it will go out of control. If not it may create full phase anarchy nationwide.
