Everyday demonstrations, rallies taking place in Nepal regarding MCC that touches Nepalese living abroad worldwide, I am not exempt.
Being in the USA I would like practice & express freedom of speech granted by the constitution that concern MCC in Nepal.
The way in which, I understand MCC is that they are supposed to work jointly alongside economically disadvantaged countries .
Whole point of it is to help other countries selflessly, eliminating poverty, corruptions with the aid of financial grant peacefully.
The way it is happening is completely different. Nepal Is destabilizing. Nepal signed agreement with MCC in 2017. This agreement is done without widely consulting the Nepalese media, people & without thoroughly reading all the clauses by Nepalese Team. This is one of the main reason behind the current consequences & USA may not aware of the root cause.
Today people raised the questions in all clauses of MCC and disapproving it. It is one of the consequences of neglecting peoples opinions as stated above by Nepalese Team.
In my opinion Biden Administration of USA must voice their second thoughts and ensure a press release on this subject. There is already uprising of Nepalese people against MCC although there is handful leaders in favor of it. Biden Administration USA must concern the voice of the majority people of Nepal
and provide adequate strategy not to damage the images of USA.
New strategy is deem necessary to stabilize Nepal and bring immediate peace in the country. It can achieve dismissing MCC in present situation. If really willing to help Nepal simply granting financial assistance through USAID of Nepal will do. If not USAID there are many other publicly acceptable channels to provide grants.
This is just one of the many solutions and not limited.
At the same time it’s time to review in the state level why MCC causing issues in foreign countries by concern authorities of USA? There may require changes/modifications in the policy level. To be successful in implementation of any program, It shall count all the socio economical, socio-political factors as well as history & culture of the foreign countries being strictly in democratic principle and practicing non-biased policy.
So, I highly recommend to think seriously by Biden Administration on this subject and recommend dismissing MCC at current situations of Nepal with alternative solutions that can be accepted by majority people of Nepal beside the government of Nepal.
We all know that the Millennium Challenge Corporation is an independent development agency of the U.S. Government, working to reduce global poverty through economic growth. Created in 2004, MCC provides time-limited grants and assistance to poor countries that meet rigorous standards for good governance, from fighting corruption to respecting democratic rights.
However, if majority of Nepalese people are not willing for the grant with clauses of MCC best way will be pull back not to be parts of conflict of divided Nepal on this issue.
Things in Nepal are worsening & getting out of control and that may ruin the image of USA that concerns many US Citizens as well.
This suggestion of mine will be definitely in the favor of the Nepalese people. It will immediately restore peace over there. It will be also in the favor of the USA & her citizens.
