Kathmandu, May 19-Britain has given assurances to Nepal to help it fight COVID-19. In a virtual meeting today with Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, British Minister of State for Foreign Commonwealth and Development Affairs Tariq Ahmad said British government would continue its support to the health and other sectors of Nepal.
On the occasion, the two sides exchanged views on ongoing efforts to address COVID related challenges amid rapid surge in cases and on bilateral cooperation in this context, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Expressing gratitude towards the British government for its continued support including in the current difficult situation, Minister Gyawali emphasized that Nepal was in need of vaccines and other essentials to fight against the unprecedented surge in COVID-19 infection.
Various other matters of bilateral relations between Nepal and the UK, and the COVID-19 pandemic were discussed during the meeting. (RSS)
