The Madhyapaschim University (MU) has signed Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with two international level Universities for carrying out study and teaching-learning activities on inclusive education.On Wednesday, Madhyapaschim University signed MoU with Chung-Ang University, Korea and Oslomet University, Norway for educating inclusive (special) education up to Bachelor’s degree.Former Assistant Dean of MU Department of Education Bishnu Kumar Khadka shared that they have stepped up preparation to introduce inclusive education at Bachelor’s level at the Department Central Campus from upcoming educational year.
Khadka further informed that curriculum development process has also made progress as part of the preparation of launching the course focusing targeted children and education-deprived students so as to serve the objective of developing human resource.The University came up with the decision and action by acknowledging the need of quality inclusive education as an important part of the Sustainable Development Goals, he added. “The academic and executive council of the University has taken ahead policy decisions and MoUs with Korean and Norwegian Universities were signed to execute a project to provide support in the areas such as scholarship, study, teaching and research”.
Addressing a kick-off meeting under the Leading University Project for International Cooperation (LUPIC), MU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nanda Bahadur Singh said MU would take ahead relevant programme on new and contemporary subjects.Norway’s Oslomet University and Inland Valley Applied Science University, and Tribhuvan University and Madhyapaschim University of Nepal are the partner institutions of the Norwegian Programme for Capacity Development in Higher Education and Research Development (NORHED) Project associated to inclusive education. Under the LUPIC Project, Chang-Ang University of South Korea, Sudurpaschim University, Madhyapaschim University, Purbanchal University and Pokhara University of Nepal are the partners, it is informed.
