The Ribdikot Rural Municipality in Palpa district has announced to provide education to the parentless children for free upto grade 12.
Chairman of the Ribdikot Rural Municipality, Narayan Bahadur Karki, told the RSS that the local government has made a policy decision aimed at providing free education to the poor and parentless students so that they won’t have to remain out of school.

The rural municipality is coming up with the idea as the school enrollment of the orphan children and students of missing parents is low there. In some cases, such children are taking shelter in their relatives’ house while some others are earning their life on their own from their tender age.

To implement its decision to provide education to the parentless children, the local government has started to collect the data of beneficiaries. According to Chairman Karki, the programme would be started from the upcoming fiscal year.
