Kathmandu, June 14- A total of 2,918 new cases of COVID-19 infection were registered from 14,819 tests including 9,438 RT-PCR and 5,381 antigen tests in the country in the past 24 hours. According to Ministry of Health and Population, altogether 5,147 infected patients have recovered in the same period in the country. So far 536,252 infected patients recovered from COVID-19 in Nepal.
Kathmandu district witnessed 396 new cases while 145 in Lalitpur and 66 in Bhaktapur, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. The Ministry confirmed that 53 new deaths caused by the virus infection were recorded in the past 24 hours across the country. With this, the total death toll due to COVID-19 reached 8,465 in Nepal. It is said that there are 65,804 reported active cases of virus infection in the country. There are a total of 8,182 active cases in Kathmandu, 2,434 in Bhaktapur and 3,442 reported active cases of COVID-19 in Lalitpur.
The Ministry also said that there are 61,122 infected ones in home isolation while 4,682 in institutional isolation. It is said that 995 patients are in ICU while 324 in ventilators across the country.According to the Ministry, two call centers 1115 (from 6am to 10 pm) and 1133 (24 hours) are in operation since 13 March 2020 to provide counseling service regarding COVID-19 prevention and treatment.
