Home Minister Khand takes stock of COVID-19 situation from CMs, CDOs

Minister for Home Affairs Bal Krishna Khand has taken stock of COVID-19 situation at the border points with neighbouring India from chief ministers and chief district officers of various districts. The minister in a telephonic conservation today inquired about the virus situation from Lumbini Province chief Minister Kul Prasad KC and Madhes Province chief minister Lal Babu Raut and CDOs of 12 districts, some of which share border with India, said the minister’s press coordinator Madhu Sudhan Bhattarai.

The Home Minister inquired about situation of infection rate and arrangements for COVID-19 tests as well as for holding centers for infected people. He also took stock of efforts taken to save people from the virus and cold wave from CDOs of Kailali, Rupandehi, Banke, Arghakhanchi, Kanchanpur, Bara, Parsa, Morang, Jhapa, Saptari, Kapilvastu and Nawalparasi West.

The Minister directed the CDOs to tighten security checks at the borders, manage COVID-19 tests and distribute firewood to people to combat cold wave. In the conversation, CDOs, Bara and Morang, Krishna Bahadur Katawal and Kashi Raj Dahal respectively apprised Minister Khand of arrangements made for infection tests and isolation centers, and the efforts taken to save people from cold wave.
