Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that Dharan is a city with its own identity and uniqueness. Addressing the ‘Dharan Day’ program organized by Dharan Sub-metropolis on the occasion of the 121st anniversary of Dharan city here today, Prime Minister Deuba said that Dharan has its own identity in the field of education, health and religion.Stating that Dharan was able to celebrate its 121st anniversary due to its uniqueness, he said that the government was positive for the overall development of Dharan.
Prime Minister Deuba said that the government was studying the problem at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences and would find a solution soon. Prime Minister Deuba, who is also the Chancellor of the Institute, said that the government is committed to the reform of the BPKIHS. He said that Dharan would be made a ‘hub’ of education and health.
Also the president of the ruling Nepali Congress, Deuba said that it was necessary to unite the party. He said that unity in the party would be maintained only if the party leaders and cadres move forward together.On the occasion, Member of Parliament Jayakumar Rai informed the Prime Minister that traders and industrialists had relocated from Dharan due to drinking water and unemployment problems. He requested the Prime Minister to allocate budget for overall development to preserve the historicity of Dharan.
Also today, Prime Minister Deuba inaugurated a waste management center being constructed at a cost of Rs. 260 million by Venter Wave to Energy Company at Dharan-6, Sunsari.The company is preparing to produce gas by processing the waste in Dharan sub-metropolis from the waste management center being constructed and sell the produced gas to the consumers. After twenty years, the company will hand over the processing center to the sub-metropolis.Similarly, Prime Minister Deuba inaugurated the Nepali Congress Municipal Party Office at Dharan-2.
