Tanahun, May 30 – Sixty nine megawatt electricity generated from Marsyangdi Hydropower Project has been added to the national grid. The project with 69 megawatt capacity located in the district of Tanahun has started producing power in its full electricity from its three power stations, said electrical supervisor of the Centre, Shiva Ram Sharma.
It, however, produces 40 megawatts electricity during dry season as the water level in water sources has heavily receded during the season, he said. With this, the burden of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) to purchase power from neighbouring India has eased to some extent, said the NEA. (RSS)
